As of now, none of us know whether the SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19 virus was accidentally leaked from a laboratory in Wuhan, China or jumped on to humans “zoonotically” from some animal. But the hypothesis that it did escape a lab, which was earlier confined to the margins of opinion, has now gone mainstream.
