In recent times there is a sudden spurt in fraud happening through popular social media platforms. It is called as identity theft , where the fraudster will steal the identity of someone and will send messages in his name. Few days back i recieved a message from one of my friend who asked me to send 25k immediately saying he was in ICU..Since the friend was close i was committed, but still wanted to check. I said I would like to call him before transferring the money and he made some excuse which confirmed my doubts.
So beware if you also get calls or messages esp on social media , facebook being most vulnerable for this..
