Lessons for security forces from a successful counter-ambush against Maoists

Two years ago, Maoists ambushed 25 BSF (Border Security Force) troopers in the jungles of Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district, killing four of them. The ambush could have been far worse but for the fact that the security forces carried out a determined counter-ambush—that is foiling an attack and forcing the Maoists to retreat.
